About the Chopin Society of Atlanta

The Chopin Society of Atlanta is a non-profit organization devoted to promoting Frederick Chopin’s music, advancing the understanding and appreciation of his legacy and promoting the arts in the Metro Atlanta area. Our recitals, usually held at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, have featured such internationally acclaimed pianists as Ingrid Fliter, Christopher O'Riley, Sa Chen, Joyce Yang, Kevin Kenner, Piotr Folkert, Marc Laforet, Ewa Poblocka, Leszek Mozdzer and Adam Makowicz. Their performances have met with enthusiastic praise from classical music lovers and have often been sold out.

Our goal is also to enrich children’s education by organizing competitions for students, inviting local young artists to perform at our fundraising events, and offering free concert tickets to the participants of our popular after-concert essay contests. We believe that music increases young people’s intellectual abilities and stirs their imagination.

The Chopin Society of Atlanta is a chapter of the Frederick Chopin Society , founded in 1834 in Warsaw, Poland.
The International Federation of Chopin Societies remains the world’s largest organization dedicated to the works of a single composer. In 1989 it was admitted to the UNESCO International Music Council.
